iba Award: Categories expanded

At iba 2025, specialised magazine Backtechnik Europe will once again present the iba Awards. The awards recognise innovations that have been specially developed for line-oriented baked goods production or large-scale bakeries. In recent weeks, the editorial team has received many interesting proposals that could not be categorised in one of the familiar categories. We have therefore decided to introduce an additional category. This is simply called ‘Other technical solutions’ and includes systems, machines and devices for which no category existed previously. The general award criteria are not affected by this. In particular, the target group for innovation - the bread industry and large-scale trade - remains unchanged. We are still unable to accept applications from the areas of raw materials / convenience and shop fitting. Application documents that have already been submitted or requested will of course remain valid. This also applies to the timetable: •  Request for application documents: Immediately. • Submission of your application: Immediately. • Application deadline: 5 April 2025. • Announcement of the nomination: 15 April 2025. • Audit of the nominated solutions at iba: 18 and 19 May 2025. • Award ceremony for the winners: 20 May 2025, 11 a.m., stand of the German Bakers' Association.
